Let Everything Else Fade Away

Oh weary souls, take comfort in this day! Sing, make merry, rejoice. For we who were once lost are now found. We who were once blind can now see.

This morning I came across a beautiful passage in which the redeemed and martyred of the Tribulation will sing before the throne of God.

“And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: ‘Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints! Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, for Your judgments have been manifested.’ ” ~ Revelation 15:2-4

These people will have suffered horrendously under the persecution of the Antichrist, and they will ultimately be martyred because of their decision to deny him and choose Jesus. What songs of woe they could sing! Yet instead, they will focus on worshipping the Lord God Almighty, letting everything else fade away.

What a great example for you and me! Today, won’t you join me in letting the troubles and problems and fears fade away, if for only a moment? Let’s focus on our Lord and Saviour and worship Him!

“This is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” ~ Psalm 118:24

“The LORD lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted.” ~ Psalm 18:46

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.” ~ Psalm 19:14

“Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! Sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD, bless His name; proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. For the LORD is great and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods.” ~ Psalm 96:1-4

“Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, and His praise in the assembly of saints.” ~ Psalm 149:1

Wherever you are, wherever you live, sing and praise God!

“Sing to the LORD a new song, and His praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you coastlands and you inhabitants of them! Let the wilderness and its cities lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. Let them give glory to the LORD, and declare His praise in the coastlands.” ~ Isaiah 42:10-12

I love this last passage, especially since we are currently in the middle of harvest in my little corner of the world!

“You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance. They drop on the pastures of the wilderness, and the little hills rejoice on every side. The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered with grain; they shout for joy, they also sing.” ~ Psalm 65:11-13

No matter how bleak things may look, God is on His throne and worthy of our praise. Shout for joy and rejoice! And let’s also watch and pray. Jesus is coming soon!
