Rooted, Established, and Giving Thanks in Him

“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.” ~ Colossians 2:6-7

What a simple, yet profound, admonition from the apostle Paul. Once we have received Jesus as our Saviour, we should walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him, established in the faith (in Him), abounding in it (in Him) with thanksgiving.

In Him. Abiding in the Vine (John 15), waiting in the Lord.

“For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” ~ Colossians 2:9-10

In Jesus is found all the fullness and power of God. And we are complete in Him. Paul goes on to tell us more of what we share in Him and with Him throughout the rest of Colossians 2. Read it for yourself. 🙂

“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.” ~ Colossians 3:1-4 (emphasis mine)

I want to be found in Jesus and with Jesus today, rooted and established and giving thanks in Him, seeking after “those things which are above, where Christ is” and setting my “mind on things above, not on things on the earth”, abiding in the Vine, waiting in the Lord. What a great way to spend this day, and every day! Care to join me? 🙂
