” ‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.’ ” ~ Jeremiah 29:11
Mother’s Day is coming up this weekend. We all love to give and receive flowers and candy, trinkets and baubles, but what about giving something more meaningful this year? What about giving some HOPE to other moms and “paying it forward”?
What if, as a mother, you had no means to properly care for your children? No clean water, no playgrounds, no schoolbooks, no nutritious meals, no clean clothes, no warm beds, no promising future. No hope. Oh, you love them desperately and deeply, but you cannot provide the basics for them. I know I would worry and despair. What about you?
What about the mothers in India, the Dalits – the “Untouchables”? Their children are cursed simply because of who they are – slumdogs – with no hope for a future.
But what if there was a “Bridge of Hope” for these precious little kiddos, a way made available for them to be able to escape the hopelessness of the slums and dungheaps of India and have hope of a future? Oh happy day, there is a Bridge of Hope! Through the Bridge of Hope centers, Gospel for Asia has made a way to help these kiddos ~ they just need people to step forward and be a sponsor, for only $35 per month.
What does your $35 provide?
* A daily nutritious meal
* A quality education
* A better life
* The message of Jesus’ love
And what do you receive? The joy of knowing you are providing the above for a kiddo… And letters like this one:
“Praise the Lord. I am so happy to read your letter. Thank you for you like my picture. How are you?… Everyday I go to BOH tution. Next week my Annual exam will started. I doing study hard. Everyday I pray for you. Thank you for your letter and help.”
Oh, how this makes me smile and my heart leap with pride and joy! 🙂
Why not consider giving hope to the mothers of India this Mother’s Day? Sponsor a kiddo! $35 per month will literally change lives.
What a great Mother’s Day gift idea, to sponsor a child in honor of your mom! After all, moms sacrifice so much for their children. Perhaps this would be the perfect way to “Pay it Forward” and give sacrificially for someone else’s children. 🙂

If you would like some other options, our family sponsors a child with GFA, but also with Childcare Worldwide and with Compassion International, and I can testify personally that they are all stellar! (If higher education is a passion of yours, there are older kiddos needing sponsors through Childcare Worldwide – our “son” is studying welding!)
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and grandmas ~ may you have a beautiful weekend filled with joy and love!
