I’ve Got This

Whatever you are facing in life right now ~ whatever hurdles or valleys or struggles or sorrows ~ know that you are not alone. Everywhere I turn I find hurting, weary people. Friends, family, acquaintances. In the news, in my neighborhood, in my own life. Fear, doubt, worry, pain. And everywhere I turn, every problem that crops up, every wound, every worry, I find the answer is Jesus. He has been whispering to me, “I’ve got this. It’s okay. I’ve got this.” My responsibility is to keep trusting, keep believing, keep clinging to Him, keep praying.

” ‘In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.’ ” ~ John 16:33b

Turn to Jesus. Give Him your burdens. Lay down your fears. Surrender ALL to Him, the One who can, and will, take care of everything in your life, if you choose to let Him. He’s “got this”.

I am studying through Isaiah, and the following passage comforted me this morning. Although God was speaking through the prophet Isaiah to the people of Judah, the nature of God and His promises shine through these words and are applicable to you and to me.

” ‘I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you are afraid of man who dies, and of the son of man who is made like grass; that you have forgotten the LORD your Maker, who stretched out the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; that you fear continually all day long because of the fury of the oppressor, as he makes ready to destroy? But where is the fury of the oppressor? The exile will soon be set free, and will not die in the dungeon, nor will his bread be lacking. For I am the LORD your God, who stirs up the sea and its waves roar (the LORD of hosts is His name). And I have put My words in your mouth, and have covered you with the shadow of My hand, to establish the heavens, to found the earth, and to say to Zion, “You are My people.” ‘ ” ~ Isaiah 51:12-16

I am He who comforts you. God is always ready for us to come to Him when we are in dire need of comforting. Who are you that you are afraid of man who dies…that you fear continually all day long…? Hmm, I spend too much energy and time being afraid of what this life threatens. For I am the LORD your God, who stirs up the sea and its waves roar (the LORD of hosts is His name). Sometimes I forget just how omnipotent our God is, that He is the great I AM, the Maker of the heavens and the earth. I have put My words in your mouth, and have covered you with the shadow of My hand. With the power of God’s Holy Spirit through me, I can have an answer to whatever comes my way. And I am hidden, protected, and covered with God’s own hand.

” ‘My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.’ ” ~ John 10:27-30

Take comfort, dear ones. Once we choose to follow Jesus, we are in His hand, and no one, absolutely NO ONE, can snatch us away, ever. Jesus has “got this”. Keep holding on to Him!
