We Looked For Peace

I am so thankful for the sunshine, and for the promise and possibilities of a fresh new day and a fresh new work week. Hope springs eternal in the dewy freshness of the morning ~ “This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. The LORD’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness. ‘The LORD is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘Therefore I have hope in Him.’ ” ~ Lamentations 3:21-24

The world around us is spinning out of control. Some people seek answers. Others simply shrug it all off. ” ‘Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we may die.’ ” ~ Isaiah 22:13b. People cry for peace. “We looked for peace, but no good [came; and] for a time of health, and behold trouble!” ~ Jeremiah 8:15 (KJV)

Jesus reminds us that ” ‘The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly.’ ” ~ John 10:10. Satan, the ruler of this broken world, seeks to steal, kill, and destroy everyone. Let’s show people the way to Jesus and His abundant life!

“But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.” ~ Romans 5:15

Our hope is in the LORD, not in this world! Let us remember to extend grace to those around us, to LOVE one another, and to allow God to work through us, so that people might choose to accept God’s freely and lavishly given gift of grace ~ unearned, undeserved mercy, love, kindness, forgiveness ~ through faith in Jesus. Only then can peace, true peace, be experienced. Grace. Then peace.

” ‘These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.’ ” ~ John 16:33

” ‘Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.’ ” ~ John 14:27

Rest in Jesus. Grace, then peace!
