“This will be written for the generation to come; that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD.” ~ Psalm 102:18
This verse grabbed my attention because this applies directly to me- and to you! We are all part of the people who were “yet to be created”. And as I read and study my Bible, I find many, many reasons to “praise the LORD”! How amazing to be a part of the future fulfillment of a verse written thousands of years ago! 🙂
God’s Word, the Bible, was written for us, “the generation to come”, as well as for all the generations past. It is applicable to our twenty-first century lives. Every single word of it! It never grows outdated or stale. Instead, it is timeless and true, always and forever, because it is God’s Word, from God’s mouth. “For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth [cometh] knowledge and understanding.” ~ Proverbs 2:6 (KJV)
God never changes, grows old, or stale. He is untouched by time. “‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.'” ~ Revelation 1:8
God’s Word is full of wisdom, truth, and authority. And since Jesus and the Father are One (John 14), Paul instructs us to “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” ~ Colossians 3:16-17 (KJV)
Let’s encourage one another, we who were “yet to be created”, to take the Bible into our hearts and apply it to our everyday, all-day, lives. Let’s praise the LORD always, and sing with grace in our hearts to Him!
And whatever we do, in all that we do, we should always remember we bear the name of the Lord Jesus, and in all that we do, we should give thanks to God!
