Crowned the Year with Thy Bounty

“And they who dwell in the ends of the earth stand in awe of Thy signs; Thou dost make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy. Thou dost visit the earth, and cause it to overflow; Thou dost greatly enrich it; the stream of God is full of water; Thou dost prepare their grain, for thus Thou dost prepare the earth. Thou dost water its furrows abundantly; Thou dost settle its ridges; Thou dost soften it with showers; Thou dost bless its growth. Thou hast crowned the year with Thy bounty, and Thy paths drip with fatness. The pastures of the wilderness drip, and the hills gird themselves with rejoicing. The meadows are clothed with flocks, and the valleys are covered with grain; they shout for joy, yes, they sing.” ~ Psalm 65:8-13

Isn’t this a beautiful picture of God’s provision for us? He enriches the earth, prepares the grain, waters it abundantly, settles its furrows, softens it with showers, blesses it with growth, and makes the harvest bountiful and fat. “The meadows are clothed with flocks, and the valleys are covered with grain”.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” ~ James 1:17 (KJV)

Every good gift, every perfect gift, any and all good in our lives is from God.

As this year draws to a close, and the hope of a new year dawns, remember this ~ God has crowned the year with His bounty. Thank Him for the good things He has done this year, for you.

“‘Return to your house and describe what great things God has done for you.’ And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.” ~ Luke 8:39

Tell others what Jesus has done for you!

Thank God for His provision, for His bounty. Thank Him for what He will do in the coming year.

Stand in awe of God, and of all He is and all He does. And join with the dawn and the sunset, the meadows and the valleys, as “they shout for joy, yes, they sing”! 🙂
