How Majestic is Your Name!

“O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Thy name in all the earth, who hast displayed Thy splendor above the heavens!…When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which Thou hast ordained; what is man that Thou dost take thought of him? And the son of man, that Thou dost care for him?” ~ Psalm 8:1, 3-4

I love the first verse of Psalm 8! It brings to my mind the beautiful song…

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth (Repeat)
O LORD, we praise Your name
O LORD, we magnify Your name
Prince of Peace, Mighty God
O LORD God Almighty

How good it is to sing praises to God!

Then we move on to verses 3 and 4, and other songs come to my mind. I love how the Psalms are still being sung, to this day!

Do you ever look up at the night sky, filled with millions of stars, and feel somehow small and insignificant? And then think about the Creator of those stars? I think that is how David felt when he wrote these word ~ “what is man that Thou dost take thought of him?…that Thou dost care for him?”

God is great and mighty, all-powerful and all-knowing, the Creator of EVERYTHING, beyond our comprehension and understanding. Yet He does take care of and think of us! He loves us with incredible, perfect love.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” ~ John 3:16 (KJV)

The Creator of the universe loves you and me so very much that He died for us, paying the price for our sins, and giving us the opportunity to have a restored relationship with Him. God loves you! Have you accepted this gift of perfect love ~ redemption and forgiveness of sins, mercy and grace, peace and hope, everlasting life? Why not do that today? šŸ™‚

One Response to How Majestic is Your Name!

  1. This reminds me of a couple of my favorite worship songs. “The King Who Remembers My Name” and “Creator of the Universe” both speak of his majesty, and that he is worthy of praise and honor, yet he loves us and desires nothing more than to be in relationship with us.

I shared this on fb. It’s a good thing to remember today as we go to the polls.
