Singing Praises with Joy!

When Friday nights and Sunday mornings roll around, I cannot wait to get to church and worship. My heart yearns to spend all its time on the mountain top of the LORD, in the throne room of God, at the foot of the cross, singing and praising. Oh happy day! 🙂

Hezekiah turned the nation back to the LORD during his reign as king of Judah. After his wicked father, Ahaz, closed the doors of the Temple, Hezekiah sought out the Levites to reopen, restore and consecrate the house of the LORD. And then they offered sacrifices and worshiped. Oh, how they worshiped!

“He then stationed the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, with harps, and with lyres, according to the commandment of David and of Gad the king’s seer, and of Nathan the prophet; for the command was from the LORD through His prophets. And the Levites stood with the musical instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets. Then Hezekiah gave the order to offer the burnt offering on the altar. When the burnt offering began, the song to the LORD also began with the trumpets, accompanied by the instruments of David, king of Israel. While the whole assembly worshiped, the singers also sang and the trumpets sounded; all this continued until the burnt offering was finished. Now at the completion of the burnt offerings, the king and all who were present with him bowed down and worshiped. Moreover, King Hezekiah and the officials ordered the Levites to sing praises to the LORD with the words of David and Asaph the seer. So they sang praises with joy, and bowed down and worshiped. Then Hezekiah answered and said, ‘Now that you have consecrated yourselves to the LORD, come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings to the house of the LORD.’ And the assembly brought sacrifices and thank offerings, and all those who were willing brought burnt offerings.” ~ 2 Chronicles 29:25-31

Musical instruments. Singers. Psalms. Praises. Bowed knees. Joyful hearts. Thankful offerings.

I am so glad I can come before my God singing and praising, with thankfulness and joy, offering what little I have to Him. And I don’t have to wait to be in church with other believers. I can do it any old time I want! 🙂 Hallelujah!

You are good You are good
When there’s nothing good in me
You are love You are love
On display for all to see
You are light You are light
When the darkness closes in
You are hope You are hope
You have covered all my sin

Oh, I’m running to Your arms
I’m running to Your arms
The riches of Your love
Will always be enough
Nothing compares to Your embrace
Light of the world forever reign!
