“There will be a day with no more tears
No more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place
Will be no more, we’ll see Jesus face to face
But until that day, we’ll hold on to you always”
~ Jeremy Camp, There Will Be A Day
While mowing the lawn earlier this week (you wouldn’t believe how much thinking I get done during that hour and a half, even with my iPod blaring), I came to the startling realization that when I am in heaven I will be able to fellowship with people on this earth who I am currently estranged from.
I wonder if we all have these people, or if I am just “lucky” that way? Someone with whom you have tried to settle problems, but, as our pastor says, they are just not “getalongable”. I can only say, “I am sorry”, and “Can we please talk about it?” so many times…
“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”~ Romans 12:18 (KJV)
Sometimes it just isn’t possible. Sigh.
But someday, at the throne of God, we will be singing praises together!
“And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, [be] unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.” ~ Revelation 5:11-13 (KJV)
What a delightful thought! If their hearts belong to Jesus, like mine, I will be hanging out with them in heaven, where the petty junk of this earth will no longer matter. Won’t that be nice? No more quarrels or disagreements or hurts, just the good stuff! 🙂
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” ~ Revelation 21:4 (KJV)
(Happy birthday, M. I love you.)
