“‘The LORD your God has multiplied you, and behold, you are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude. May the LORD, the God of your fathers, increase you a thousand-fold more than you are, and bless you, just as He has promised you!'” ~ Deuteronomy 1:10-11
Isn’t this a beautiful blessing? Moses was speaking directly to the sons of Israel, encouraging them and reminding them of God’s promises and provision. They were getting ready to cross over the Jordan into the land God was giving them, and they needed encouraging!
The sons and daughters had not experienced the miracles, signs and wonders that God had done in Egypt and at the Red Sea for their parents. Forty years had passed. In Deuteronomy, Moses reviews their history, the laws, and the covenant God made with His people. And he reminds them of God’s promises.
God will always keep His promises! If He said it, He will do it. Period. Any promise from God you find in the Bible, believe it, and take comfort in the knowledge that God will do it.
