Revelation 14 is a basic overview of the coming events. What stood out to me most is the realization that the Gospel, the good news about Jesus, is entrusted to us, the Church, to share right now. But once the Church is snatched out of and away from the earth, the angels will be proclaiming it.
“And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people; and he said with a loud voice, ‘Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters.'” ~Revelation 14:6-7
What an awesome responsibility is given to us. A responsibility that could have been given to the angels from the beginning, but instead was given to us, by Jesus Himself.
“And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.'” ~Matthew 28:18-20
“And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.'” ~Mark 16:15
We are told to go and preach to all the world, to all creation. This is a command… how well am I obeying this one? I need to make sure I’m sharing the good news about Jesus with everyone, even if it is just with my actions, how I live my life. But when the Holy Spirit tells me to speak up, I had better speak up!
The angels will continue to spread the good news of Jesus during the Tribulation. People will hear and will have an opportunity to choose Jesus, or to refuse Him.
Fear God, give Him glory, and worship the Creator- the angel in vs. 6-7 will tell this to all the earth. This message is yours and mine to tell right now. God, give us Your strength to obey this command!
